Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 11 runs in a thrilling contest to clinch the three-match ODI series, marking their first series win over Pakistan in 11 years.
In the series-deciding third and final ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Pakistan won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first.
Batting through the full quota of overs, Bangladesh posted a competitive total of 290 for 5.
In reply, Pakistan were all out for 279, falling 11 runs short of the target.
Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim starred with the bat, scoring his maiden international century. He was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Nahid Rana were jointly awarded Player of the Series for their contributions throughout the three-match contest.
The victory also helped Bangladesh climb one spot in the International Cricket Council ODI rankings, moving up to ninth place by overtaking the West Indies cricket team.
