Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed on Sunday urged tax lawyers not to harass service recipients.
He made the appeal at the inauguration of the National Board of Revenue’s (NBR) Tax Representative Management Software.
The adviser said the interim government aims to bring transparency to the service sector and reduce public harassment, and the reforms undertaken by this government would benefit the next administration.
At the event, NBR Chairman Md. Abdur Rahman Khan said filing corporate tax returns will be fully online and mandatory from next year, adding that tax-related apps will be developed within the current year.
He also mentioned that digitising the tax collection process would allow automated audit selection and audit procedures.
