Commercial land registration will be conducted entirely online through the One Stop Service (OSS) platform of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) from December 16, BIDA Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury said on Sunday.
He made the announcement while addressing a programme at BIDA headquarters in the city’s Agargaon area.
“Digital services will not bring any benefit unless manual services in government institutions are fully phased out,” said the BIDA chief, adding that the authority has taken initiatives to digitalize all its operations.
He stressed the need for raising awareness among service recipients as their interest in using digital platforms remains relatively low.
Ashik Chowdhury also said entrepreneurs will be able to avail all business-related services on a single platform within the next one and a half years.
“A pilot project will be launched this year, and from December 16, commercial land registration will be made 100 percent online,” he added.
At the event, five new services of the Directorate of Registration were integrated into the BIDA OSS platform.
With the latest inclusion, the platform now hosts 142 services from 47 organizations, enabling investors to access land registration, license issuance and a wide range of other services online.
