The steady flow of remittance continues as Bangladesh received over $1 billion (US$1.018 billion) in the first nine days of September, according to Bangladesh Bank data.

The inflow is $185 million higher than the same period last year, when expatriates sent $833 million.

From July 1 to September 9 of the current 2025–26 fiscal year, the country has received $5.918 billion in remittance, up from $4.971 billion during the same period of FY 2024–25.

In August alone, expatriates sent $2.422 billion, compared to $2.224 billion in the same month last year, registering nearly 9 percent year-on-year growth. The central bank noted that remittance inflows were disrupted last August due to the student-led movement and subsequent political transition.

However, last month’s remittance was slightly lower than July’s $2.478 billion, showing a month-on-month decline despite the year-on-year growth.
