Trading on the country’s two stock exchanges is underway on a positive note with major indices rising and most shares advancing.
On the third working day of the week, Tuesday, the key index DSEX at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 43 points in the first hour of trading.
The other two indices also edged higher, with the Shariah-based DSES advancing 8 points and the blue-chip DS30 up by 5 points.
Most of the issues traded on the DSE saw price appreciation, as 294 issues advanced, 39 declined and 59 remained unchanged.
Turnover on the DSE stood at over Tk 300 crore in the first hour.
Meanwhile, the overall index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained 63 points.
Of the 127 issues traded there, 82 advanced, 31 declined and 14 remained unchanged.
The port city bourse registered a turnover of more than Tk 3 crore in the first hour of trading.
