Point-to-point inflation in Bangladesh edged up to 8.29 percent in November, slightly higher than 8.17 percent recorded in October, according to the latest report released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on Sunday.
The rate, however, remains significantly lower than 11.38 percent registered in November last year.
BBS data shows that food inflation increased modestly month-on-month. In November, food inflation stood at 7.36 percent, compared to 7.08 percent in October.
On a year-on-year basis, food inflation dropped sharply from 13.80 percent in November 2024.
Non-food inflation eased slightly, falling to 9.08 percent in November from 9.13 percent in October. In the same month last year, non-food inflation was 9.39 percent, reflecting a mild improvement over the year.
