A total of 48,134 police personnel have so far received election-related training aimed at enhancing their skills and professionalism ahead of the upcoming national election, Bangladesh Police said on Tuesday.The ongoing training programme is part of an initiative to ensure that police officers perform their duties efficiently and impartially during the polls. Earlier, a “Training of Trainers” course on the same topic was held from August 31 to September 2.Around 150,000 police members are expected to be deployed at the field level during the national election. Their activities will be closely monitored at both national and international levels.
