BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Thursday said Bangladesh’s foreign relations will be guided by four key principles — mutual respect, shared interests, sovereign decision-making in geopolitical matters, and non-interference in internal affairs.
Speaking at a seminar titled “Tarique Rahman: Politics and Policy” organised by the Dhaka Forum Initiative at a city hotel, Amir Khasru said the BNP is ambitious because “without ambition, a nation cannot progress.”
He reaffirmed BNP’s commitment to creating one crore (10 million) jobs and said the party would start working from “day one” if entrusted with responsibility.
He also pledged to open up PayPal access in Bangladesh once the party returns to power.
Describing BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman as a “beacon of democracy” and the son of the founder of multiparty democracy, Khasru said Tarique continues to lead the struggle to restore democracy and defeat authoritarianism.
When no other party dared to talk about reform, BNP presented a 31-point roadmap for change,” he added.
